2006 EBMM Double Wicket Cricket Tournaments Rules
1. One match will be played
on one of the Saturdays or Sundays before Diwali Function on 4th
November depending on the response.
2. There
must be a minimum of Ten Teams registered for this match.
Each team
will consist of 2 players (1 male & 1 female).
3. Entry
Fees: $2.00 for adults (Age 16
and above).
4. Once
all entries are in, draws will be finalized and published.
5. Match
will be played between 2 teams at a time.
6.
Team winning coin toss will have the option to bat or bowl
first.
7.
The first team batting will bat for 2 Overs, which will be
bowled by the second team. Both the members from the second team
will bowl 1 over each. After the 2 Overs, teams change roles
i.e. the second team bats, while the first team bowls.
8.
Runs can
be scored by any of the following ways only:
a.
Running Singles, Doubles and Threes
b.
Hitting a boundary
c.
Hitting a six
d.
Overthrows
9.
There will be no runs scored for byes, leg byes, no balls and
wides.
10.
An over
consists of 6 good balls. Wides and no balls will have to be
bowled again.
11.
A batsman can be out one of following ways only:
a.
Bowled
b.
Caught
c.
Run-Out
d.
Stumped.
12. There
will be a maximum of 11 fielders fielding at any time, which
includes the bowling team members.
13. Each
out will result in a reduction of 5 runs from the team total.
14. The
"Net Runs" scored (runs scored minus the runs deducted for OUTs)
in those 2 overs will be tallied for each team. The team making
the more runs wins the match.
15. Game
supplies (Bats, Stumps, wickets, balls etc....) will be provided for
players, unless they prefer to use their own.
16. EBMM Sports Committee will be maintaining the overall tournament status/score
sheet, and will update it on the website. match.
